Yellow Fever Vaccination
If you’re planning to go travelling to Africa or South and Central America then a Yellow Fever vaccination is highly recommended as the infection is spread by mosquitoes and there is no specific treatment for the infection. The Yellow Fever vaccine is safe for most people who are 9 months old and over, and a single dose provides long-lasting protection.

You can get Yellow Fever if you're bitten by an infected mosquito. The mosquitoes that carry the Yellow Fever virus bite during the day and are found in certain areas of Africa and South and Central America. Yellow Fever is not found in the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand or the Pacific Islands.
